Pre-Puppy Program

Dutchy (our three legged Dachshund) and Blue (our electronic puppy)

Bringing a puppy home for the first time is a very exciting thing. They are adorable, soft, cuddly and so, so, so love-able. But when it's your first time introducing this puppy into your life it can be overwhelming, especially if you do not know what to do, how to train it or make it feel safe in your home. Because of this we have introduced a pre-puppy program; whether you're a first time puppy owner, a family with young and inexperienced children or a person with a disability - this program can help you prepare for the moment you decide to bring a puppy home.

What's included in the program?

The pre-puppy program will educate you and your family with the basics of puppy caring and training, this will include:

- Toilet training

- Introducing the puppy to the home, family and toileting area

- How to interact with the puppy (so to not overwhelm it)

- Puppy carrying

- Crate training

- Basic Obedience Training

- Lead and collar training

- Importance of Socialisation

- Suitable interaction with toys and games

- Managing problematic behaviour (separation anxiety, mouthing and inappropriate chewing)

How is this done?

The pre-puppy training is done in the comfort of your own home. A trainer will come to your home with all the equipment that is needed. The trainer will introduce you to Blue, our electronic puppy. Together with Blue's help the trainer will run through all the program material to better prepare you for the experiences you will face after adopting your first puppy.

How long are the sessions?

The pre-puppy program runs for 2 hours per session at the cost of $80.
